It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Updated on December 5, 2011

We all look forward to the month of December in each year. It is the season to love because its the season to give and share and be together with family and friends. It is the season of lights and sweets and eat and eat and be jolly. Many of us still believe in Santa and want him to come from the North Pole to deliver us our wish list. Till today, many letters are written to north pole. This is the month of fascination and hope and time to be cheerful even if we have a list of things to worry about. It's the Festival time, which makes us rejoice over small little things. We like to look at decorations and lights outside houses and commercial buildings. I guess, it is the time of the year when life slows down a little and we like to slow down ourselves and enjoy the life around us. We definitely cherish those moments by sipping in hot cocoa and eating hot fudge sundaes. For once, we don't worry about our weight and don't bother to climb the scales during this month.

Wow, what effect this month has on us. It's as if a magic spell has been cast upon us by the Almighty. I sometimes, wish we had such thrill for life, such happiness and joy for the other months of the year. Currently, we are living to work and not working to live. We buy such huge mansions with so much debt that we are out of the huge house in order to work and pay the mortgage of the house we have bought. We are hardly in the house to celebrate the beauty of it. Similarly, our expenses are more than what we earn. How much comfort or materialistic things do we want? We are making our lives complex by staying in tune with today's technology.

However, I realize that today the technology is changing at the spur of the moment because of man. Had we not been hungry for more, we would still be riding a horse carriage to work. But, then there has to be a limit to our extravagance. We have to draw a line somewhere. That line once drawn will give us the satisfaction what we usually get in the month of December which is a month of light and happiness and joy.

Let us try to live our other months of the year with as much happiness as we are enjoying this month. Let's not just make THIS month the most wonderful time of the year. Live life to the fullest with a broad smile and light shoulders to bear the weight of others rather than always getting overwhelmed with ourselves. This is what this month usually advises us, correct?
