Meeting a Stranger after 15years....
I met my friend after good 15 years and she was a total stranger to me. She was so cold and bitter; I had no idea what happened and why this change of attitude? 15 years ago, we parted ways in a friendly manner by a warm hug and tears of departure then, what changed?
When I met her after these many years; she had hesitation in her hug and since I had forced myself onto her; she had no choice but hug me back. But, there was no warmth in that hug. I felt I was hit by a cold wave. We sat down after the hug and although I was shooting her with questions regarding her welfare she had pretended not to hear them and would just nod and answer, "okay" for all questions. I felt neglected and sad. My mind started wandering back to those days when we used to share each laughter and cry.
Those days were so much fun. Altough, she is older than me; we had so much in common. We would go shopping, dining together. We were glued together in parties and always had each other's back.
Why did time take us apart? I wanted to confront her on her atitude but she was not interested to talk to me. Maybe she found someone better than me? I was shouting out within myself as to why all this happened since even in those 15years when I tried contacting her she would email back saying, "She is too busy." I took that statement literally because if one is busy it sure can be very tedious to keep up with distant relationships.
All I have right now, is fond memories of my friend and always wonder how did Time take us apart?
Time is just a 4 letter word but, this word has so much depth and importance in our lives. This word can make us heal, it can make us grow apart, it can help us stay in the present and it can also help us go back in the past virtually.
I have given up on my friend and all I can say is that my friendship with this person was dated till 1996. Unfortunately, Time and Destiny is not in man's hand and we have to learn to bow to it.
