Myths used while raising kids

Disciplining a child is very crucial at the beginning of his life since, if not done on time it can have it's own consequences; when the child is all grown up and on his own in this wild world. It is definitely easier to discipline them at a younger age when their minds are like sponges and they are so innocent and can be molded in any form.

I have used some myths to raise mine such as...

Telling the kid that mom has 3 eyes.

2 eyes are in the front of the head and 1 at the back. This tactic is used when I am driving and my kid is all buckled up at the back. This helps them stay disciplined which is very important since, I have to concentrate driving with the precious cargo in my car.

Telling the kid that if you lie, two horns will grow from your head.

This helps the kid to not get tempted to tell lies and I get all the correct information about his school and his friends.

Telling the kid that if he does not clean up after his play time, the toys vanish into thin air.

This helps the kid to clean up after his play time. However, there have been incidents when my kid did not clean up just to see it's effect and I made sure I hid them in the closet for him to show that Toys do get vanished.

Telling the kid that if he shares his toys with other children, the toys tend to multiply.

This encourages the kid to share with the other children with the greed to get more. However, the toys are multiplying when he is asleep. That way he does not expect anything from his parents.

I do realize that these myths will work short time and once he is elementary school they will tend to fuse out but, I am hoping by then, that discipline will blend into his system.
