Should Panda's live?
62
Panda is the rarest and cutest member of the Bear family. It is one of the most threatened animals today. Although, it has a special significance for WWF as it has been the organization's logo since 1961, the year the organization was founded.
Panda is usually found in China and only ~2500 panda's are surviving right now. This bamboo eating member of the bear family is facing a number of threats. Mainly, with the habitat loss for the bears. The panda's get isolated and poaching becomes a threat for these harmless animals.
Panda has been in the news lately because of the television presenter, Chris Packham who hosts BBC2s Springwatch. He made a statement that "Giant pandas should be allowed to die out."The television presenter pointed that this species was not strong enough to survive on its own and that the millions spend on preserving this species can be spent some where else.
There was a huge uproar on the internet by the above comment. Now, is the television presenter playing reverse psychology by making such a statement?I don't know if Chris meant to say the above but people were out raged by that statement and asked him to make a public apology on what he uttered. It definitely created a stir and petitions were signed to prevent such a loss on this planet. People became aware of their surroundings and started thinking of all the possible ways to save those species which are coming near to extinction because of our reckless life-styles.
Now, whether Chris said that deliberately or just to make an awareness is definitely up to his consciousness. But, the pot is boiling with all the possible new ingredients to mix into it so, that the end product is in favor of the endangered animals.
In the end of all this drama, I can only say, "Jai Ho!!"

Ruchira, That's what I understood and it could be a good way to help these cute bears :)
I've been lucky enough to see these animals live at zoos in Washington DC and San Diego. And I say "yes" to your question. Voting this Up and Interesting.

I was fortunate to have visited the Toronto Zoo one year and the main attraction that year was 2 Panda bears. Should Pandas live? Hell Yes!
