How do I overcome Fear?
“I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.”
― Woody Allen
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
― Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"
There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”
― John Lennon
“The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.”
― Elizabeth Cady Stanton
What is Fear?
Fear is another adjective which is added by man in his dictionary. It is such a word that makes us scared and tightens our muscles and makes us all anxious as if the world is about to end.
What do we fear?
We fear loss, we fear death, we fear terrorism, we fear natural disaster, we fear change, we fear disease, we fear failure, we fear rejection, we fear betrayal, we fear growing old, we fear loss of job, we fear loss of dear ones, we fear loss of love. Gosh, there is no end to what we fear.
Have we ever wondered, WHY do we fear?
Is it, because of fear of failure?
Is it, because we don't want to be the laughingstock? Is it, because we don't want to lose the race with our peers? Is it, because the world has a mantra, "Survival of the fittest" and if we lose then we will not be able to survive?
Points to ponder upon
Our Destiny has been written before we were born.
So, what if we lose something of the above in this lifetime. So, what if we loose most of it. He who has made us, will also show us the way to gain it back. Even if we do not get what we lost, this is LIFE. We have to give it all up eventually some day when we say adios amigos to our friends and family.
Result of Fear
We all know that fearing about something is injurious to health. Fear can lead to stress and stress has many side-effects which can lead to some of the fears that we fear.
So, why fear and live.
How do I overcome fear?
Fear is a state of mind. When our destiny has been designed way beyond when we were born, then why fear?
Be fear-free and hope and courage will be the adjectives you would love to live by.
Live today each day and learn from your mistakes each day.
Learn to conquer fear and the pride of conquering something can take you miles.
Loving Life and Fearing about something can NEVER be experienced together.
We have to make a choice and move on!
