What would you do IF given a second chance?
72
Phew, LIFE !
Life is such a roller coaster ride that once the ride is over; we tend to analyze what went wrong or what could we have done in that situation so, that the result would be different.
Ponder upon...
This is an exciting phase of life that we ALL are living where opportunities seldom knock on our door TWICE. But, what IF we would get to live that situation again in this lifetime? What IF we get a second chance to do something different than what we did last time? Would we grasp it?
Sure, we all would love to grasp it and ride it once more with a different perception so that the output would be so much as to; what WE want or what we DESIRE.
But, the BIGGEST problem in our lives is the AWARENESS.
We are so busy in our routine and so engulfed in our past and our future that we do not realize when the opportunity knocks on our door. We have to be aware and conscious and be in the present moment when the opportunity comes so that we grab it and can make a difference in our lives.
An Example
A classic example that I have been experiencing in my daily life is the words I speak to the people around me. The style of my speech can sometimes hurt people. I am aware of its consequences and many a times I have assessed myself after seeing the reaction on my friend's faces. Then I realize the impact of my words spoken and feel bad.
Just as spilled milk can only be wiped but not collected back into the glass the same way, words spoken cannot be put back in one's mouth.
What has been uttered...is uttered and there is no going back. Alas!
So, when given a second chance to interact with that person...should I be aware of what I did earlier or should I react immediately? Should I act with my Gut Feeling or should I think twice of the consequences I had faced earlier which made me think twice of my actions and made me feel that what IF I had acted in a different situation.
Attached below is my hub on Gut Feeling...what is Gut feeling and why does man tend to react more with their Guts rather than their brains.
- Gut Feeling
Ever wonder how many times we have acted from our Gut rather than responded back with our brains? Ponder over it and read this hub getting into the details of it and seeing it's effect.
Conclusion & Ponder upon...
Ideally, Life would not be FUN if, we keep getting second chances in life.
But, there are some moments in life, which I feel come not only twice but thrice.
However, the key words to making them last longer and with sweet memories is to be in the moment and react from the mind rather than react suddenly and then thinking of it's consequences.

There are way too many moments that I wish I could have a do over for. Words that left my mouth without thinking, actions that escaped without realizing the consequences. Yet, while I would love to have a do over... I am glad because they have all been learning experiences for me.
Great hub! Made me think!
Speaking, typing, I do wish you could un-ring a bell sometimes! Great hub.
Boy!! Did this make me think..Many times, i've said something that i wished i could take back the moment it left my mouth. I've been reading about reincarnation and i hope it's true..I would love to come back again, knowing what i know now, i would hope that i would make better decisions. I like your Hub..Very thought provoking. Thank you.
Cheeers
Very thought provoking. Wouldn't the world be grand if we could push a button, delete our mistakes and try again.
up/awesome
Very interesting read, I enjoyed it very much thank you!
I believe we get second chances in our lives, constantly. Only problem is, we're not always 'aware' of it....
up.
i have a chance to do everything i want .
Hi, Ruchira. If there would be a second chance and a life after death, I would change a few things in my life. It´s a great hub. Thanks for sharing.
I too believe that Awareness is something that we could use more of in the world. People just aren't aware of things like how bad they drive when talking on a cell phone, how they are actually attractive to others, how others actually notice when they slack off at work, and that in fact they are thirsty, not hungry, so eating that snack isn't going to be good for them.
I don't think I made that much sense there, but I'm trying to say: I agree.
Awareness is key, and something that all of could use a little work on. With being aware come living in the moment, and to live in the moment, we all could use with a little technological disconnect. Awareness, living in the moment, both of these would go a long way in making the world a better place. Great inspirational hub! I look forward to reading more by you!
Haha! Sorry Ruchira - I guess I was a little vague:)
Carpe diem!
I'd definitely listen to my inner voice and Not have married the ex husband. I had my doubts but ignored them. Big mistake. Good hub.
....your hubs..... your writing .... your thoughts ...are always so provocative and inspiring to the epi-man ....you're making me think and you challenge to go to places I've never been before ....
Ruchira,
Namaskar. Your topics are sublime and your thoughts profound. You always write on things that are in our mind but we tend to forget them. Thanks for sharing. Namaskar and Happy Diwali to you and your family.
Namaskar,

Dear Ruchira,
I have gone through your very imaginative hub and found myself being analyzed in such a way that I compared the life with the game of cricket. I found myself batting and if a catch is dropped, it is not necessary that the another will be dropped. Whenever it is taken my game is finished. Doing wrong is not wise. Every opportunity of the life must be availed with the aim to get maximum favorable result as much as we can. Overall, a thoughtful and an awesome hub you have written.
we are all a function of or total experiences ruchira and so at all moments everything is new and yet every moment is a second chance.
if given a second chance one does not how one would behave because that would be a function of the experience input at that moment of time. but yet yes awareness helps to make us all better over time.
Before an act, if we ponder for a moment, on the consequence of the act, things come out quite different, and often at optimum level.
Ruchira, life gives many chances but we ignore them. I read your hub again and found it much useful now also as I had found it 3 months back.
Manoj
Ha ha Ruchira, I'm not that lucky. Either I'm a fool or I am unlucky or both. I can't read things and give much pain to myself. Anyway your hub says about second chances. I'll thank life if I get it. Your hubs are my favorite destination. I learn much from them. Keep teaching,
MAKUSR
